CoolSculpting has been in the news a lot lately in light of Linda Evangelista’s lawsuit against the manufacturer. We took some time to dive into the details of these allegations and set the record straight on some of the misunderstanding surrounding the treatment. You can check out the discussion on some of these important issues between our Director of Communications and Operations, Elizabeth, and one of our CoolSculpting experts, Sylvia:

We acknowledge that there are definitely risks involved when it comes to CoolSculpting, but this goes for any treatment, and it is extremely important that you are always made aware and have a full understanding of the risks associated with the treatment of your choice.

That being said, in the right hands the risks are minimal and we still do believe that CoolSculpting can yield some amazing results for the right candidate.

This beautiful patient came in wanting to remove pockets of stubborn fat from around their waistline, also affectionately known as the love handles, and we just can’t get over this result.

before and after CoolSculpting

We can’t say this enough, but one of the most important things when it comes to CoolSculpting is being the absolute right candidate for this treatment. This patient ticked off all the right boxes for a CoolSculpting treatment and got the best results possible. They got a healthy amount of fat elimination, which in turn resulted in a very attractive, sculpted waistline.

What does being the right CoolSculpting candidate mean?

It means pretty much being at your goal weight, and just wanting to get rid of some stubborn pockets of fat that can be super resistant to diet and exercise. It also means having enough fat to eliminate. Basically, if you can pinch it we can treat it. In other words, you need enough pinchable fat in the target area for the treatment to yield visible results.

With CoolSculpting, being the right candidate means striking a fine balance between not looking to eliminate a lot of fat, but also having enough fat to remove. That’s why we love this before and after photo, because it really shows what we mean when we say that.

How does CoolSculpting create this kind of transformation?

CoolSculpting freezes and kills your fat cells, which are later eliminated naturally from your body. Typically we see about a 20-25% reduction in fat per treatment, and it’s totally normal to treat one area anywhere from 1-3 times, it really just depends on your particular needs and goals.

When it comes to CoolSculpting we always take on a customized approach and fit you with the treatment plan that’s just right for you. More than one treatment is what allowed this patient to achieve these amazing results.

The other thing that’s super important to keep in mind when considering a CoolSculpting treatment, is to find the absolute best CoolSculpting provider and to always, always go to a certified CoolSculpting practice. Our patient achieved these beautiful results thanks to the immense expertise of our CoolSculpting provider.

Here’s the thing: when you eliminate fat with CoolSculpting it’s gone forever. Meaning that if your CoolSculpting provider does not know how to manipulate and place the CoolSculpting applicator correctly, you can get something called a “shark bite,” which looks exactly what it sounds like.

Note how smooth and even our patient’s results are. The fat was targeted in such a way that it was eliminated completely evenly on each side, creating the really smooth balanced look in the waistline that you really can’t help but admire.

How long does it take to see CoolSculpting results like these?

The last thing we’ll say about CoolSculpting, is that patience is key! You need to give your body time to process and expel the fat cells that are eliminated during your treatment, and that definitely takes time. This patient’s results did not happen overnight. It required treatment sessions spaced 4-6 weeks apart, meaning that these results represent several months of being super patient and allowing the treatment to do its thing.
