We’re all quite familiar with the wonders of Botox, and with every use, we continue to discover just how versatile it is. From tackling excessive sweating in the underarms to relieving shoulder and neck pain via trapezius injections, neuromodulators have proven to be a game-changer in aesthetic and therapeutic treatments. Another area that benefits from this magic? The brows.

Enter Brow Tox—a revolutionary approach to achieving lifted and sculpted eyebrows without surgery. But how does it work? Why might you consider it? And what can you expect?

Let’s dive in!

Unveiling Brow Tox

Brow Tox, short for “brow neurotoxin,” refers to the use of neuromodulators like Botox, Dysport, or Xeomin to lift and shape the eyebrows non-surgically.

When we think of neuromodulator treatments, wrinkle and fine-line reduction often come to mind. But that’s just scratching the surface! Brow Tox works by precisely targeting the muscles around the eyebrows to create a subtle yet impactful lift.

If you’ve ever had forehead or temple injections and noticed a heavy or droopy feeling in your eyelids afterward, Brow Tox counteracts this by lifting your brows without any manual effort.

How Does It Work?

Brow Tox involves injecting small amounts of a neuromodulator into specific muscles that influence the eyebrows’ position. The key here is balance:

  • One set of muscles lifts the brows.
  • Another set pulls them down.

Brow Tox strategically relaxes the downward-pulling muscles, allowing the lifting muscles to take the lead. The result? A natural, snatched look, with gently elevated brows and eyes that appear more open and refreshed.

Fillers for Brows?

Depending on what issue is making your brows droop or look sunken, for the right patient, dermal fillers can be an effective way to mimic an eye or brow lift. There are a number of ways that filler can be used to strategically lift the brows, but one common way is to target the fat pad that sits just underneath the eyebrow.

If you find that you’re someone who has lost a lot of volume in the face, it may very well be that you’ve lost volume in this particular area as well. If that area under the brow thins out over time then what you’re left with is a sagging brow. Filler strategically placed just below the eyebrow line can fill this area and give it a nice and subtle lift.

The temples are another area where many people experience volume loss and can really affect the way the brows look, particularly by making the tail of the brows droop. Filler in the temples will lift the ends of the brows, but will also generally add balance to the whole face.

Thread Lift for the Brow Area

The thread lift is a treatment that is basically synonymous with a non-surgical brow lift. The treatment involves strategically inserting dissolvable threads (InstaLift threads) just under the surface of the skin in areas where you find that you have moderate skin laxity and your face could use a little lift.

The threads will dissolve within 6-9 months, but because they stimulate the production of collagen and elastin in the body, your result is maintained for up to a year or a little longer.

In order to create a brow lift with a thread lift treatment, extreme precision and knowledge of the anatomy is required, so make sure you go to a provider who has a lot of experience with this. There are a lot of nerves and blood vessels around the middle of the brow, for example, so you can’t treat that particular area. Depending on your needs, your doctor will carefully target the area of the brow that will create the look you want.
