At MD Beauty Clinic we offer a number of skin tightening and resurfacing options, depending on your individual needs. 

Morpheus8

Morpheus8 is a skin tightening and remodeling treatment that combines microneedling with radiofrequency heat. In addition to stimulating the production of collagen and elastin in the body via the microabrasions made by microneedling, Morpheus8 has the capability to penetrate the skin at a wide range of depths in order to deliver RF energy. This is what makes Morpheus8 so effective in treating a variety of skin concerns from skin laxity to hyperpigmentation and acne.

Forma

Forma uses heat and radiofrequency energy in order to stimulate the production of collagen as well as to tighten and lift the skin and improve on any unevenness caused by skin texture and tone irregularities. Forma promotes new skin cell and tissue growth and results in an overall improvement and rejuvenation of the skin.

The Procedure

Our skin tightening and resurfacing treatments take anywhere from 15-60 minutes. The majority of the treatments do not require anesthetic cream, but can be provided if you like. 

With Forma your provider will apply a thin layer of gel in order to allow the applicator to move more easily across your skin. For this treatment you can expect to feel tolerable heat and some prickling on your skin, but if at any point in the procedure you feel uncomfortable your provider will be able to adjust the applicator settings in order to match it to your comfort levels.

With Morpheus8 you will feel tiny pricks on your skin then a zap and your face may feel hot like a sunburn.

Be prepared to come to your appointment with clean skin, with no lotions, creams, perfumes, or make-up on it, and avoid tanning before your session.

Is Skin Tightening and Resurfacing for you?

Skin tightening and resurfacing treatments are very effective treatments that are great for anyone looking for skin tightening and overall rejuvenation. They can also be effective in improving uneven skin pigmentation and rosacea, textural irregularities, combatting acne and improving the appearance of acne scarring, as well addressing fine lines and wrinkles. All of our skin resurfacing and tightening treatments are great for anyone looking to improve the overall quality of their skin and for skin rejuvenation.

Who should not consider having Skin Tightening and Resurfacing?

You should not have skin tightening and resurfacing treatments if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, if you have an infection near or around the treatment area, if you are prone to bleeding or have any bleeding disorders, or if you have any autoimmune disorders that could affect your healing.

When can I expect to see results?

You’ll see a noticeable improvement in your skin within 1-3 days following your treatment, once any redness, swelling, or bruising has subsided. However, best results will be seen once you’ve completed your series of treatment sessions, and your results will only continue to improve after that. For skin tightening, results can usually be seen within three weeks of your treatment.  

Will I need more than one treatment?

The number of treatments is dependent on which treatment you are getting. 

For Morpheus8 we recommend 3 treatments spaced about a month apart for optimal results, and for Forma we recommend 6 treatments spaced one week apart.

Is there any downtime?

With the majority of these skin resurfacing treatments there is minimal downtime. You can expect to see some redness and swelling, minimal bruising, and the area that was treated might feel warm or sunburnt. 

Most people feel more comfortable taking a few days of social downtime in order to allow for some of these side effects to heal, which can take anywhere from 1-3 days.

It’s important to follow your provider’s post treatment guidelines, they will tell you what products you can/should use post treatment and which ones should be avoided (no exfoliators!). You may also feel some itchiness, but it is important that you avoid scratching your skin and allow it to heal naturally on its own.
