Non-Surgical Butt Lift In a Nutshell

What is it?

The non-surgical butt lift reshapes, contours, and sculpts your buttocks using injectable fillers.

Who is it for?

Anyone looking to:

  • improve the shape of their buttocks
  • give the buttocks more volume and a subtle lifted look
  • fill in “hip dips”
  • give the bum a more rounded shape

How It Works

The non-surgical butt lift is a treatment that reshapes, contours, sculpts and adds more volume to the buttocks via injectable fillers. Also known as the Sculptra butt lift or the “hip dip” treatment, this procedure stimulates your body into producing fresh collagen around the filler product after its been injected into the bum.

We can perform this treatment with two different types of injectable products: Sculptra and Radiesse. Also used as an injectable filler for the face Sculptra is currently the more common dermal filler used for a non-surgical butt lift because of its unique stimulatory effect in the body, but Radiesse has also recently joined the non-surgical butt lift team with some great results.

Which injectable we choose, whether Sculptra or Radiesse, will be dependent on your anatomy, skin quality and what you’re looking to achieve. It’s important to note that a non-surgical butt lift will never be able to compete with the results of a surgical BBL, which harnesses fat from other areas of the body to be re-injected into the bum. But what we love about the non-surgical butt lift is that it is so minimally invasive and we can improve hip dips, textural irregularities and build soft volume in the bum. This makes it a great option for individuals looking to create more balance and fullness in their bum in a very natural looking way.

Sculptra is different from many other dermal fillers as it’s composed of poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA). As opposed to just filling the buttocks with volume, it stimulates collagen production and gets your body to create new scar tissue improving on the overall volume and structure of the buttocks.

Radiesse is composed of calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) and works in a similar way to Sculptra by activating your body to produce collagen. The main difference between the two fillers is that Radiesse gives instant volume meaning that you will see a result almost immediately following your treatment and before the collagen in your body increases, whereas Sculptra offers a more gradual approach and results take longer to appear, but will ultimately stimulate your body to produce more collagen over time.

The Procedure

The non-surgical butt lift treatment takes anywhere from 30-60 minutes. The treatment is very similar to an injectable treatment you would have for the face.

For a Sculptra butt lift you can expect your provider to massage the filler into the buttocks following your treatment in order to avoid any formation of lumps or bumps. If nodules do form after treatment they typically will resolve themselves on their own within 2-4 weeks.

Following your session, we would recommend massaging the area in the first 24-48 hours 2-3 times a day.

Is there any downtime?

There is pretty much no downtime following a non-surgical butt lift. We recommend not engaging in vigorous exercise for about 24-48 hours following your treatment, but otherwise you can resume all of your regular activities.

Your bum may feel a little sore and tender after the treatment, and you may experience some redness, swelling, and/or bruising in the area, but these symptoms should subside within 2-6 days of your treatment.

Are you a candidate for a Non-Surgical Butt Lift?

A non-surgical butt lift is great for anyone looking to subtly improve the shape and appearance of their buttocks, as well as those looking to target mild to moderate skin laxity and skin depressions in the bum. We can also target what are commonly referred to as “hip dips,” creating a more rounded look to the sides of the bum and hips. It’s a great treatment for anyone looking to add a bit more volume and shapeliness while avoiding surgery.

Non-Surgical Butt Lift Contraindications

You should not consider having a non-surgical butt lift if you are pregnant or breastfeeding or if you have an active infection anywhere around the treatment site. Should you be immunocompromised or have an auto-immune disorder please speak to your provider before deciding to undergo a non-surgical butt lift. If you are prone to hypertrophic and/or keloid scarring a Sculptra butt lift or Radiesse butt lift may not be for you.

When can I expect to see results?

Sculptra butt lift results require some patience. While you will notice an improvement immediately, the full results take time to appear. As a stimulatory filler Sculptra works to encourage collagen and new tissue production in your body, this process occurs in the weeks and months following your treatment.

Typically the results of a Sculptra/Radiesse butt lift begin to appear 3-4 weeks following your first treatment. Full and optimal results will become noticeable several weeks following your final treatment session. As your body builds new collagen and the structural integrity of the bum strengthens you’ll notice your results continuing to improve during the weeks and months following your final treatment session.

The fresh collagen and tissue structure that your body builds will be what maintains the results of your non-surgical butt lift for the next couple of years.

Will I need more than one treatment?

Most individuals require 5-10 vials per treatment and 1-3 sessions for initial results spaced on average 4-6 weeks apart. The results of a non-surgical butt lift last on average 2-5 years. After these initial sessions we recommend a maintenance treatment every 2 years.

How much does Sculptra butt lift cost?

The number of vials you’ll need per treatment session varies from individual to individual and will be determined in consultation with your provider. We typically recommend between 1 and 3 sessions for optimal results. You’ll receive a detailed quote during your complimentary consultation.
