Plexr, sometimes called Plexr Plus or Plexr Plasma, is an advanced cosmetic device that uses innovative technologies like sublimation and retraction to gently resurface and rejuvenate the skin. Often described as soft-surgery due to its impressive, surgery-like results without the need for incisions or stitches, Plexr is redefining what non-invasive treatments can achieve.
This versatile procedure is ideal for targeting a variety of areas, including the delicate periorbital region (around the eyes), the lower face, and the neck. Whether you’re looking to lift sagging eyelids, smooth out fine lines, or firm up loose skin, Plexr offers a powerful solution.
Plexr involves the use of ionized gas, or plasma, to resurface the skin barrier. This can contribute to superficial improvements of the skin, similar to a chemical peel or deep facial. However, given the advanced mechanism of the Plexr device, it can also be used to mimic surgeries like an eye lift.
BOOK AN APPOINTMENTPlexr operates by ionizing gases in the surrounding environment to create plasma, which is then directed at the skin’s surface. Plexr restricts the plasma to small ranges for optimal safety and targeted results.
The procedure works by applying the plasma to the top layer of the skin, or the stratum corneum, to create a controlled retraction. This retraction is caused by the sublimation of the superficial skin cells (i.e., their transformation from a solid into a gas) resulting in immediate contraction and tightening of the skin. The treatment stimulates collagen production, promoting skin rejuvenation without affecting the deeper skin layers.
The Plexr procedure typically takes between minimum 1 hour to 6 hours (unless treating a specific lesion), depending on the area treated. To ensure your comfort, your provider will begin by applying a topical numbing cream one hour prior to your treatment—allowing it to take effect. Once the area is numb, the Plexr device will be used to create a series of controlled plasma flashes that precisely target the treatment site.
Plexr works by sublimating the outer layers of the skin causing immediate tightening, and stimulating collagen production for long-term rejuvenation. The device allows for highly controlled application, making it effective for addressing a variety of concerns, such as eyelid laxity, wrinkles, scarring, and more.
Your provider may advise avoiding certain medications or skincare products prior to your Plexr procedure to minimize the risk of post-treatment pigmentation or irritation. During your complimentary consultation, our staff will guide you through the preparation process and answer any questions you may have.
Following treatment, thin grey-brown scales (referred to as “carbon dust”) may form on the surface of the skin. These will naturally fall off within 10 days, and patients can typically resume their usual activities at this point.
Plexr is ideal for anyone looking to address sagging skin, fine lines, and wrinkles, as well as improve the appearance of scars and skin laxity. It’s a versatile treatment, particularly effective for areas like the eyelids, face, and neck.
Plexr is an excellent choice for those seeking a non-invasive alternative to surgery, offering skin tightening and rejuvenation. In addition to targeting signs of aging, it can also enhance skin texture and tone while addressing common concerns like sun damage.
While Plexr is suitable for many individuals, it may not be appropriate for those with certain skin types or conditions. Though rare, an area treated by Plexr may experience pigment changes, either hyper- or hypopigmentation. This is more likely in darker skin types, or if the area is exposed to UV light. These changes often fade over a period of 3-6 months if left untreated.
Contraindications:
Plexr treatments are usually spaced 6-8 weeks apart to allow full healing of the skin and to assess results before planning further sessions. Since Plexr works by gradually tightening and resurfacing the skin, results are often cumulative, so additional sessions may enhance outcomes. Some areas, like the neck or deeper wrinkles on the face, may require more time for collagen production and skin remodeling to show significant improvement.
