Vaginal laxity is a highly overlooked issue that a large number of women face. Many women just accept it as a normal part of the aging process or as an inevitable part of giving birth, but also because we haven’t had many options to address it, aside from surgery.
Vaginal laxity can cause undue discomfort and anxiety in a woman’s daily life causing urinary incontinence as well as a diminishment in physical sensation during intercourse.
If you experience urinary incontinence while you exercise, sneeze, cough, or laugh, a decrease in sexual function, or a decrease in pelvic floor muscle function, the Viveve Solution is a clinically proven, non-surgical, minimally invasive procedure that could significantly improve your quality of life.
How does The Viveve Solution work?
The natural aging process, menopause, the strain of childbirth, weight and hormone fluctuations, can all be contributing factors to the stretching and weakening of vaginal tissue, which results in vaginal laxity. The Viveve Solution works to address this issue by restoring and rebuilding healthy collagen to the area and by working deeply at the cellular level in order to reinvigorate and energize vaginal tissue.
The Viveve Solution uses cryogen-cooled, monopolar radiofrequency technology (CMRF), which is a system that allows for the delivery of controlled, uniform heating which renews healthy collagen and vaginal tissue, while at the same time cooling surface tissue in order to ensure that the procedure is comfortable and that no tissue is damaged in the process.
The Viveve Solution is a very safe and comfortable procedure. The treatment takes about 30 minutes during which the tip of a small probe is inserted just inside the vaginal opening. The tip then delivers radiofrequency (RF) energy to the area rebuilding that much needed collagen, while simultaneously cryogen-cooling the area to ensure that you feel no discomfort during the entire procedure.
The Viveve Solution is offered at one of our state of the art facilities, and is performed by one of our trained registered nurses under the supervision of our expert doctors. At each of our treatment centres you will have access to complimentary wifi, Netflix, and an iPad with headphones, so that you can just sit back and relax, while the treatment is administered.
No special preparation is required for the procedure. Although the procedure can safely be administered during a woman’s menstrual cycle, we recommend that you undergo the treatment after your menstrual cycle has ended as the increase in blood flow to the area could make the treatment less effective.
There is essentially no recovery time following this procedure and most women feel comfortable going back to work or going on with their daily duties immediately following the treatment.
Is The Viveve Solution for you?
Your first step is to book an in-person complimentary consultation with one of our expert doctors in order to assess whether you are a candidate for The Viveve Solution.
Generally anyone who feels they have vaginal laxity or is experiencing mild to moderate urinary incontinence can undergo this procedure. If you’re pregnant or breastfeeding, we want you to wait until afterwards to have this treatment. The procedure cannot be performed if you have a pacemaker, an STD, a vaginal sore, or if you have a uterine prolapse.
When can I expect to see results and how long do they last?
Many women see results almost immediately following treatment, though it takes about 90 days to allow for the treatment to take on its full effectiveness as you need to give your body time to regenerate that healthy collagen and vaginal tissue.
Typically the improvement in vaginal tightening is permanent though in some cases we may recommend re-treating the area in one year’s time to maintain the full effects of the procedure.
Will I need more than one treatment?
Most women necessitate only one treatment, however for some women a yearly maintenance treatment could be recommended. Whether or not you need more than one treatment will be discussed during your complimentary consultation with one of our treatment Specialists.
Are there any side effects?
Most patients do not experience any side effects, though we do recommend that you abstain from sexual intercourse for at least 48 hours following the procedure.
You might experience, some swelling, redness, white vaginal discharge, or abdominal discomfort, though these side effects are usually quite mild and resolve themselves very soon following treatment.
What are the risks?
The Viveve Solution is non-surgical and minimally invasive, meaning it requires no injections, anesthesia, or incisions. Because the procedure ensures that no damage occurs to surface vaginal tissue it carries no long term risks.
How much does it cost?
The Viveve Solution costs $2500. For most women only one treatment is required and we offer a number of financing options in order to offset the financial burden.
