Rhinoplasty is one of the most commonly performed procedures in cosmetic surgery, but few people are aware that there is a non-surgical option available. For certain individuals, we can inject soft tissue fillers in the area. The upside of this procedure is that it requires no surgery, and no downtime. It’s not permanent, which is both a pro and a con: if you don’t like it, it’s only temporary (and can actually be dissolved immediately), but it also means you must keep it up overtime. The downside of this procedure is that not everyone is a candidate for non-surgical rhinoplasty.

Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty In a Nutshell

What is it?

Non-surgical rhinoplasty involves soft tissue fillers being injected into targeted areas of the nose in order to improve on minor irregularities that may have been caused as a result of rhinoplasty and to give the nose a more balanced and improved appearance.

Who is it for?

Anyone looking to:

  • augment the dorsum (bridge of the nose)
  • improve irregularities following rhinoplasty
  • fill small depressions in the area of the nose
  • add volume to the nose
  • improve the overall appearance of the nose

How It Works

Just like for any other area of the face, with Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty, soft tissue fillers are injected into areas of the nose in order to improve its overall contour and shape. When it comes to Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty, soft tissue fillers can be used in order to correct some specific concerns you might have.

One of the most common uses of soft tissue fillers for the nose is to augment the dorsum (enlarge the bridge). Soft tissue fillers are also commonly used to improve irregularities after rhinoplasty. Small depressions caused as a result of a rhinoplasty procedure can be filled with soft tissue fillers as opposed to having to undergo revision rhinoplasty.

At MD Beauty Clinic we only use temporary hyaluronic acid gel fillers. Permanent particulate fillers should be avoided due to the high amount of complications and infections resulting from them.

The Procedure

Non-surgical rhinoplasty is a minimally invasive procedure with little pain involved. Like any skin injectable, soft tissue fillers are administered via the use of very fine needles and in most cases contain lidocaine (a built-in anaesthetic) so that you feel comfortable throughout the entire procedure.

There is minimal recovery and downtime, and most patients return to their daily activities soon after treatment.

Is Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty for you?

This is an extremely important question and it is essential that you book a complimentary in-person consultation with one of our board certified plastic surgeons in order to assess whether non-surgical rhinoplasty will be effective for you and will give you the result you are looking for.

Soft tissue fillers are really only effective for specific issues. They are particularly effective if what you are looking to treat is an area that is too small, as soft tissue fillers can add volume and improve the overall appearance of the nose.

That said, if the problem that you are looking to treat is an area of the nose that is too large or prominent, then fillers will only exacerbate that issue, not help to improve it. Our expert surgeons will assess you and listen to your questions, concerns, as well as to your aesthetic goals, and will then recommend which option — non-surgical or surgical rhinoplasty — is the best option for you.

How long do results of Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty last?

Our soft tissue fillers are temporary but long lasting. You can expect your results to last for a little over one year.

Are there any side effects?

You may experience puffiness or you may see some mild swelling in the area following the procedure. You may also experience mild stinging at the site of injections. Most people can return to their normal daily activities soon after treatment.

In order to ensure a speedy recovery and best results, we recommend you follow your post-treatment care guidelines carefully. We will also book a follow-up appointment for you in order to make sure that your nose is healing and looking as it should.
