Think of HALO as a fresh start for your skin. This powerful hybrid laser targets sun damage, uneven tone, and fine lines in a single treatment, helping your skin look brighter, smoother, and more refreshed. With a combination of epidermal renewal and deep dermal revitalization, it effectively addresses years of skin damage and visible signs of aging.
HALO is a next-generation skin resurfacing treatment designed to restore brighter, smoother, healthier-looking skin. Using advanced hybrid laser technology, HALO targets both the surface of the skin and deeper layers simultaneously to address signs of aging, sun damage, uneven tone, and texture.
BOOK AN APPOINTMENTUnlike traditional resurfacing lasers that treat only one layer of the skin, HALO combines ablative and non-ablative wavelengths in a single treatment to restore your skin’s natural glow. In the past, ablative laser treatments were known for requiring greater downtime as a more invasive treatment, whereas non-ablative lasers often did not achieve the transformative results that patients were seeking. With HALO, we can deliver an impressive result without the same downtime demands.
Everyone’s skin is different, and HALO is designed with total customization in mind. It’s become one of the most trusted names in laser skin treatments over the past decade, and with good reason. By stimulating the skin’s natural repair response, HALO helps improve overall skin appearance while fading discolouration, smoothing fine lines and wrinkles, refining the look of pores, boosting skin brightness, and bringing back a healthy, youthful glow.
Before your treatment, your aesthetician will discuss your goals and answer any questions in order to determine the right settings for your treatment. You’re welcome to book a free consultation with us in advance in order to raise any concerns you have, or to discuss the details of your treatment. We’re always here to help!
Your provider will first apply a topical anesthetic to the area to be treated. It takes about 30 to 60 minutes for the numbing cream to take effect, so you’ll have some time to relax beforehand—respond to emails, text your friends, listen to a podcast on your device, or simply unwind.
When the treatment itself begins, your clinician will gently roll the handpiece over the area to be treated in a crisscross pattern, treating one small section at a time. HALO uses an innovative technology to motion-track the movement of the device in order to ensure an even and uniform treatment to achieve the best result possible.
Depending on the area you are treating, this portion of your appointment can take anywhere from 15 to 60 minutes.

Many patients describe the feeling of HALO as a sensation of heat with an occasional prickling feeling. Thanks to the topical anesthetic, you can expect very little discomfort. Additionally, the device is designed with integrated cooling, and we will provide you with a medical cold air blower for added comfort.
Immediately afterwards, you may feel a little tightness to the skin. You may also experience a slightly swollen or red sunburn-like sensation.
It’s important to follow your aesthetician’s guidance and keep your skin protected for the first 24 hours following your appointment. You may notice temporary redness or swelling, mild sensitivity to warmth, and darkening or flaking of the treated areas as skin renews. After the first 24 hours, the treated skin will begin to slough off.
These effects typically resolve within 2-5 days, but can depend on the depth of treatment. You may prefer a little social downtime during this period if that’s more your speed, but you can certainly resume your normal daily activities after 24 hours.
Sun protection is essential, and your provider will explain the importance of avoiding sun exposure. You should avoid tanning (and tanning sprays!) before and after your HALO laser treatment.
You can expect to see results within as little as a week following your treatment, and your skin will only continue to improve over time. Most patients report seeing the biggest improvement occurring between 2 to 3 weeks out from their session. A phase of dermal regeneration will continue to improve the look of your skin over the months that follow.
Results following any HALO skin treatment can last for years. It’s imperative that you continue to protect your freshly rejuvenated skin by using SPF protection daily. But if you know us, you know that we’d tell you that sunscreen is essential regardless of the skin treatments that you’ve undertaken.

Thanks to the personalized nature of HALO laser resurfacing, this is something you can discuss and decide with your aesthetician. Many patients are amazed by the results that can be achieved in a single appointment.
We understand that many of our patients lead busy lives and can’t always accommodate the downtime associated with intensive laser treatments. HALO is a great option thanks to its range of customizations. Some patients achieve their goals with one or two treatments with more intense settings, where social downtime is of no concern. Other patients may prefer a longer series of gentler treatments as that may be a better fit for their lifestyle. And some patients prefer a broader treatment plan incorporating multiple modalities to see their best results.
The bottom line is, there is no one-size-fits-all answer to this question. We’d love to work with you to find the solution that works best for your particular circumstances.

HALO is an excellent option if you want to improve visible sun damage, refresh dull or uneven skin, reduce fine lines and wrinkles, improve the appearance of pores or acne scars, and achieve brighter, smoother skin overall. Because it’s so customizable, you can discuss your lifestyle and your skin goals with your aesthetician in order to determine a treatment plan that works best for you.
HALO is designed to be safe and effective for all skin types and tones.
You should not have HALO if you have an active infection or cold sores near or around the treatment area or if you have any autoimmune disorders that could affect your healing. Individuals who are pregnant or breastfeeding should wait to undergo a HALO treatment at a later time. Speak to your provider if you have been on prescription Accutane within the past year, or if you are currently using blood-thinning medications.
One of the advantages of choosing to have your HALO skin treatment at MD Beauty Clinic is that we are able to offer HALO Tribrid treatments. This system gives us the ability to deeply resurface, brighten, and correct skin like never before by performing a combination of HALO and MOXI laser treatments simultaneously using a single device.

HALO Tribrid combines 3 different light wavelengths to renew different key layers of the skin, ranging from the superficial to deeper structures. This means we can refresh dull, damaged surface cells and target deeper pigmentation and discolouration, all while penetrating into the dermis to promote deep dermal renewal. The result is powerful skin transformation with results that strengthen over time.
Instead of stacking treatments and appointments, you can now easily combine them in a single session.
