If you’re worried about skin laxity, surface irregularities, and deeper blemishes, then look no further than BBL HEROic. This new and improved intense pulsed light (IPL) treatment gives you glowing skin in a fraction of the time it takes traditional IPL.
If you’re familiar with IPL, then you already know a little bit of how BBL works. Similar to standard IPL treatments, the BBL HEROic releases light at a regular interval to heat the upper layers of skin. This energy breaks up melanin and hemoglobin to address your hyperpigmentation and vascularity. The heat also triggers your body’s production of collagen to further promote radiant and youthful skin.
BOOK AN APPOINTMENTBBL HEROic can be used on your face, neck, and chest to minimize sun spots, rosacea, broken vessels, acne scarring, active acne, and many other forms of pigmentation. The HEROic can be adjusted on a miniscule level, in half-joule (0.5 j/cm2) increments, in order to adapt the treatment to your needs. Within the broader category of BBL treatments, there is a lineup of tailored interventions for your specific skincare goals:
Forever Clear is a BBL HEROic treatment that targets acne and leftover scarring. This protocol includes various light attachments (blue, yellow, and infrared) that kill the bacteria associated with acne, reduce inflammation, and promote healing. Forever Clear can be applied on active breakouts or lingering hyperpigmentation and takes 10-15 minutes to complete. Recovery involves feeling mild warmth on your skin for up to an hour, and results from this treatment are apparent within a week. We recommend 3-6 treatments to start (depending on acne severity) with semi-annual follow-up afterwards.
Forever Young is a BBL HEROic treatment that addresses signs of aging such as hyperpigmentation, laxity, and fine lines. Since BBL works to boost collagen (among other things), it is an excellent strategy for re-fortifying your skin barrier as cell turnover begins to slow. Forever Young can be applied on your face, neck, and chest and takes up to 30 minutes depending on the treatment area. You may feel warm for an additional hour after treatment, and results can be seen in 2-3 weeks. We recommend 1-3 rounds of Forever Young for best results.
BBL HEROic accomplishes impressive results, in part, because of three key features:

Depending on your desired skin goals, your aesthetician will offer suggestions and adjust the BBL HEROic to cater to your needs. Your session starts with preparation of the treatment area by wiping it clean. A contact gel is then applied to the skin to better conduct the light energy towards the target area. The BBL HEROic is carefully passed over the skin and adjusts its settings, as needed, to maintain comfort and efficacy.
The procedure takes up to one hour depending on the treatment area. No numbing is required since the BBL device contains a chilled sapphire crystal that keeps your skin cool and comfortable throughout. Your provider will give you aftercare instructions once your appointment is complete.
Downtime is minimal with the BBL HEROic. Its efficacy and integrated cooling structure make it so that you’ll only feel mild warmth for an hour after treatment.
Patients are also advised against immediate sun exposure for 2 days following treatment and should avoid tanning and tanning sprays 2-weeks before and shortly after laser procedures. We also recommend that you stop the use of active ingredients, like retinol, at least a week prior to treatment. Finally, if you have had a recent infection, you must be off antibiotics for at least 2 weeks prior to your appointment.

Results can be seen in as little as 5 days following a BBL treatment. For broader BBL HEROic™ procedures, we recommend 3-4 appointments spaced a month apart, with semi-annual sessions for maintenance.
We have different recommendations for BBL HEROic’s specialized treatments. Forever Clear yields quick results but requires more treatments (at least 3-6 to start), while Forever Young takes longer to notice but requires less frequent treatments (3-4 within a year).

BBL HEROic is a great alternative for clients who are wanting similar effects to laser resurfacing, without the laser. It’s a light-based therapy that feels gentler on the skin but maintains its strength against superficial and underlying skin concerns. The device itself has many features that outperform its counterparts in terms of adjustability and recovery.
If you’re looking for an effective treatment for active acne, hyperpigmentation, or vascularity, then consider BBL HEROic.
You should not have BBL HEROic if you have any infections or disorders that could affect your healing. You must also exercise caution and inform your provider if you are pregnant or breastfeeding before coming in for a BBL treatment.
