Microneedling is a miracle treatment that covers a wide range of concerns. With frequent cutting-edge innovations, the mechanisms of microneedling have been adapted to target areas across the body. DP4 tech was specifically created to cater to smaller areas, namely the face and neck.
Microneedling works by creating micro-injuries in the skin’s surface prompting the body’s natural healing process and stimulating the production of collagen and elastin. These proteins are essential components for maintaining skin elasticity and regeneration. This is why it’s able to cover such a wide variety of concerns.
BOOK AN APPOINTMENTMicroneedling appointments are booked for just 60 minutes. The procedure itself is very straightforward and takes a short while to cover the face and neck. During your initial appointment you will complete a comprehensive consultation with one of our lovely medical aestheticians. We want to ensure that you’re made well aware of your options as well as our process.
Once you’ve decided to proceed with the treatment, we cleanse your skin with moist wipes and apply numbing cream if you choose. Your aesthetician will get straight to work, gently moving the DP4 across your face, paying careful attention to the natural folds and creases in your skin. Our team is incredibly skilled at handling the technology, so the procedure is over before you know it. There will be some slight pain and redness after the treatment—comparable to a sunburn, so we apply soothing masks to cool the area and minimize that burning sensation.
In just a couple days you’ll see incredible changes to your overall skin quality.
The main side effect of Microneedling with DP4 is the mild-sunburn sensation, and the redness and swelling that results. Otherwise, it’s a fairly safe, fool-proof procedure. It works mechanically, so there aren’t risks involving reactions to chemicals or allergies. Unlike other microneedling treatments offered elsewhere, DP4 was specifically designed to be safe on melanated skin and does not run the risk of causing PIH (post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation) or hypopigmentation.
This procedure is also less invasive than its counterparts, like Morpheus 8, and therefore comes with less downtime. Because it’s less intense, it’s also a good option for more consistent touch ups. Whereas with Morpheus8 you’ll just do three treatments, DP4 can be done more regularly and is awesome for overall skin rejuvenation.
Since there aren’t many risks involved with the procedure, it’s safe for most to use. Bearing in mind the way microneedling works (by creating mini-incisions to the target area) it’s not safe for use on or around wounded skin. This involves sunburn. The area has to heal first, only then can DP4 be applied. The DP4 is also not meant to be passed over hair, so your aesthetician will work around your eyebrows, beard, etc.
