Belotero Balance is a fantastic tear trough filler for those with very fair and thin skin especially under the eyes. As a hyaluronic acid based filler it is specially formulated as a smooth gel that can seamlessly embed itself in delicate areas under the skin. With many fillers, individuals with thin skin under the eyes risk getting the tindle effect, a kind of bluish hue under the eyes. Because of Belotero’s specific formulation, this can’t happen when using this particular filler in the tear trough area.
Redensity II is the other type of filler we use in order to treat dark circles under the eyes. Redensity II is a non-cross linked hyaluronic acid injectable filler and is formulated with 14 essential nutrients that are already naturally present in the body. It adds volume and essential nutrients into the tear trough area, drastically reducing the appearance of dark circles under the eyes. Redensity II is also very effective in slowing down the appearance of aging as it smooths out lines and wrinkles as well as brightens and rejuvenates the skin.
Under eye filler treatment is a very simple procedure that lasts anywhere from 15-30 minutes. Many patients will even come in on their lunch break and return to work right after as there is no recovery time necessary following this treatment. In our practice, the procedure is always performed by a registered injector who is supervised by one of our board certified plastic surgeons.
In order to ensure your comfort throughout the entire procedure and to take care that there is no damage done to the very delicate area under the eyes, our expert providers will use a numbing agent as well as a cannula (rather than a regular needle). The use of the cannula is a personal preference among injectors, however your particular anatomy and history may make a cannula better suited for you. Your injector will discuss all of this with you.
In order to prepare for your treatment your provider might recommend that you refrain from drinking alcohol or taking any medication that may thin your blood in the days leading up to and following your treatment in order to avoid any unnecessary bruising.

Some patients may see some slight bruising immediately after treatment however this is easily covered up with make-up and will resolve itself within a few days following treatment.
