Ra

Radiesse is a dermal filler that contains calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres suspended in a gel. Unlike most filler compounds, Radiesse does not contain Hyaluronic Acid (HA). It’s also important to note that unlike HA, Radiesse is a lot more enduring and cannot be dissolved quite so easily. For this reason, it’s super important it is administered by an advanced injector.

Further, “Ra” not only provides immediate structure and contour to the treatment area, but also stimulates the body’s natural collagen production – a key process responsible for maintaining skin elasticity and firmness. Radiesse’s dual action of immediate correction and long-term collagen stimulation makes it an excellent choice for addressing deep wrinkles, facial volume loss and sagging especially in and around the jaw, jowls, and neck.

Ha

Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance found in the skin, joints, and eyes. In the cosmetic world, it’s the most commonly used molecule in dermal filler to add volume, hydrate the skin, and smooth out wrinkles. Hyaluronic acid fillers come in various formulations, each designed for specific areas of the face.

What sets HA apart as a compound is its ability to attract and retain water, resulting in a plumping effect that contributes to a vibrant, fuller complexion. You might even recognize hyaluronic acid on some of your skincare products. This is because it can hold 1000x its weight in water making it a stellar choice for moisturization. HA can even be an ingredient in lip plumpers because of its moisture-locking superpower.

RaHa

When we’re looking to re-volumize an area while simultaneously building back structure in the lower face, RaHa is a toolbox favourite. This patient is shown here immediately after treatment where Dr. Chbat focused on her chin, jawline and lower face. She is a bit swollen and this will slowly resolve over the next 5-7 days. Her results will continue to improve as the Radiesse works its magic in stimulating collagen production.

Notice how the projection of her chin brings her nose and lips into better proportion. Her jawline is beautifully sculpted. A great result for a beautiful patient.

When Radiesse and hyaluronic acid are used together, they complement each other to provide comprehensive volume restoration. Radiesse, with its collagen-stimulating properties, works to address deep-set lines and folds, particularly in areas with significant volume loss. In its ability to mimic bone, it can help to build back the look of boney structures in the skin – resulting in a more youthful appearance, while simultaneously improving the tone, texture and tautness of the skin.

Hyaluronic acid, on the other hand, focuses on hydrating and plumping the skin’s superficial layers, creating a harmonious balance. The combination ensures a multi-layered approach to volumizing any area you see fit. Oftentimes this involves regions of the face, but we’ve also used RaHA for hand restoration as well!

Precise

Each dermal filler has its own set of characteristics, making it suitable for specific areas of the face. Depending on your personal goals, you can use filler to address a host of concerns. It can be beneficial for sculpting and creating definition, smoothing out complexion, and increasing volume.

Radiesse, with its thicker consistency, is ideal for deeper lines and areas requiring structural support, such as the cheeks and jawline. Hyaluronic acid, available in varying viscosities, is perfect for fine lines and delicate regions like the lips and under-eye area. RaHa is most typically used in the mid to low face, jaw and neck. By thoughtfully combining these fillers, practitioners can tailor treatments to address individual concerns, achieving optimal results.

Long-Lasting

One of the standout advantages of Radiesse is its ability to stimulate collagen production over time. When paired with hyaluronic acid, which provides immediate results, the combination offers a dual-action approach. While hyaluronic acid delivers instant volume and hydration, Radiesse works in the background to enhance the longevity of results by promoting the natural flow of collagen. This extended collagen stimulation contributes to sustained improvements in skin texture and firmness.

Contouring

Contouring has been put on the map in recent years. While this is largely the case in the context of makeup, the cosmetic treatment industry has been coveting contouring for much longer. The combination of Radiesse and hyaluronic acid is particularly effective for this very feat.

Before and after a RaHa treatment in the lower face

Radiesse’s lifting properties can redefine the jawline and cheekbones, creating a more sculpted and youthful profile. Hyaluronic acid, with its versatility, can be strategically used to enhance the lips, smooth nasolabial folds, and rejuvenate the under-eye area. Together, they create a sculpted and refreshed overall facial appearance—chiseled by our doctors themselves
