Gone are the days when liposuction alone could target fat. While it remains the gold standard for targeted fat elimination it still comes at a cost: the risk of anesthesia, a long recovery, the possibility of contour irregularities; it is after all a surgery, and with surgery come risks.

Not everyone needs or wants surgery, but that doesn’t mean you don’t dream of getting rid of some small pockets of unwanted fat that no matter how hard you try you can’t seem to eliminate with diet and exercise. This is why research and technology are a beautiful thing, because we now have non-surgical, minimally invasive options to reduce and eliminate fat, with little downtime and fewer risks. We also have fat reduction options for pretty much most areas of the face and body.

Getting Rid of Fat with CoolSculpting

CoolSculpting is a great treatment for fat reduction. Especially for those really stubborn pockets of fat. It essentially freezes your fat cells in a controlled way, so as not to damage any surrounding nerves or tissue. Once frozen, your fat cells die and are eliminated naturally by your body.

The treatment is permanent. So once your fat cells die, they won’t come back in the area that was targeted with the treatment. We usually see about a 20-25% reduction of fat per treatment, which is pretty awesome. And the treatment is comfortable with essentially no to very little downtime.

CoolSculpting is best for areas that you can pinch. Take all four fingers and your thumb and try and take a large pinch of fat. If you can pinch it, it will work. So we’re talking areas like pockets of fat around the abdomen, the flanks, thighs and butt, and even that area of fat under the butt.

However, we unfortunately haven’t seen consistently great results for areas like underneath the chin (submental fat), or the little pocket of fat beside or above the knee. For this we have a new treatment called FaceTite, BodyTite & AccuTite.

FaceTite, BodyTite & AccuTite Can Eliminate Fat Too

FaceTite, BodyTite & AccuTite are a series of new treatments that we’ve just introduced at MD Beauty Clinic that we’re super excited about. These treatments use sub-dermal radiofrequency (RF) technology primarily to tighten lax or sagging skin, but also have the capability to eliminate fat pretty much anywhere on the face and body. AccuTite, in particular, targets those very small and delicate areas of the face like the nasolabial folds, eyelids, brows, smile lines, and jawline.

We’ve found FaceTite, BodyTite & AccuTite to be really amazing for areas like the lower face, for submental fat, the neck, bra rolls, and the pocket of fat above your arm pit (the tank top roll). These treatments tighten lax skin but can also employ radiofrequency assisted liposuction (RAFL) in order to reduce and eliminate unwanted fat.

If you tried CoolSculpting for one or more of these areas, and still feel like you need further reduction, FaceTite, BodyTite & AccuTite is a fantastic option.

Morpheus8 for Minor Fat Reduction

Morpheus8 is more widely known as a skin remodeling and tightening treatment that combines microneedling with radiofrequency energy. Morpheus8 technology is really state-of-the-art—it has insulated tips that allow it to penetrate the skin way deeper than traditional microneedling treatments without it being super painful or damaging to the skin. What we love about Morpheus8 is that in addition to being able to treat a variety of skin concerns from skin laxity to combatting acne, it’s also proven to be a great fat reduction option.

Morpheus8 can also be very effective on areas that aren’t suitable for CoolSculpting (i.e. on areas where you can’t pinch much fat) or don’t need as aggressive an intervention like with sub-dermal radiofrequency treatments. We can do the Morpheus8 treatment on loose stomach skin, or to target cellulite and loose thigh skin. Although you’re not looking at large amounts of fat elimination, some fat reduction will occur along with skin tightening.

So if you’ve been hoping to get rid of those love handles for good, come chat with us about a variety of options. We’ll let you know which treatment will give you the best result.
