If you’re into the non-surgical equivalent of a facelift, then you’ve probably already heard about the thread lift. A thread lift is a procedure where threads are carefully inserted below the surface of the skin in target areas of the face and manipulated in such a way as to give the face a little lift in places where the skin has begun to droop or sag.
Recently, you might have come across something called InstaLift—also a thread-lifting procedure—and you might be wondering what the difference is. With many similar treatments on the market these days, we thought it might be helpful to break down some of the key differences, and why we’ve chosen to exclusively perform InstaLifts.
What is InstaLift?
InstaLift is a non-surgical treatment that’s Health Canada-approved for suture-suspension lifting. In other words, it’s basically a type of thread lift or non-surgical facelift. It repositions tissue just below the surface of the skin with meticulously placed dissolvable threads in target areas of the face where skin laxity tends to occur most often, such as in the mid-face and the jowls.
Similar to a standard thread lift, InstaLift also stimulates a wound healing response in the body which enables new collagen production—the key to long-lasting results long after the threads have been metabolized by the body.
InstaLift can also be done in combination with filler treatments in order to really boost your result. At MD Beauty Clinic, we only offer InstaLift threads.
How is InstaLift different from a regular thread lift?
Ok, so that sounds pretty similar to a regular thread lift. So what’s so different about InstaLift? Well, we asked Dr. Goyal, our very own thread-lifting expert about this and she told us that the differences are really in the details.
Results of InstaLift last longer but are more subtle. InstaLift is a really great treatment for those who want or need more collagen production, meaning that it’s a more natural way of getting that lifted look. A regular thread lift that uses threads offers a bit more of a lift but typically lasts for less time.
One of the main differences between InstaLift and a regular thread lift is that the threads that are used are different. InstaLift threads are soft and cone-shaped.
You can also expect InstaLift to be a bit more expensive than a regular thread lift due to its advantages.
How soon will I see my InstaLift Results?
The InstaLift treatment takes anywhere between 45-60 minutes and the results are immediately visible. They continue to improve for about a year after your treatment as your collagen production is strengthened and long after the threads have been absorbed by the body.
InstaLift also requires minimal downtime, with only some potential mild inflammation immediately after treatment.
How long does InstaLift last?
The great thing about InstaLift is that, for a non-surgical procedure, it has quite long-lasting results. You can expect your look to last anywhere from 18 months to up to 3 years.
