If the cosmetic industry has captured your attention over the last few years, then you’ll know that there are a lot of treatments out there for pretty much anything you can think of. On the one hand, this is amazing! Research as well as scientific and technological advancements have made it possible to offer treatments that are safer, more effective, and wide ranging. In short, there’s something out there for everyone.

On the other hand, the vast array of treatments out there sometimes causes confusion. Some seem so similar that you just can’t figure out the difference, or figure out which one is the one you need.

At MD Beauty Clinic we recently launched two new fabulous treatments, Morpheus8 and FaceTite, that on the face of it might seem super similar—in some ways, they are. But when you get into the nitty gritty details, they have some important differences that affect which one might be the best skin treatment for you.

Here’s the thing: being fully informed about a treatment you’re interested in is super important because it’s what’s going to get you the result that you’re looking for. You don’t want to have a treatment that you don’t need, but you don’t want to choose something that’s not going to do the most for you.

Sometimes you’ll find that a treatment that didn’t seem right for you at first glance is actually exactly what you need.

What’s the difference between these skin treatments?

Morpheus8 is a skin resurfacing, tightening and remodeling treatment that combines microneedling with radiofrequency (RF) energy. FaceTite also uses radiofrequency technology but it’s subdermal, meaning that as opposed to delivering radiofrequency heat to the skin via tiny pricks the way that Morpheus8 does, it heats the deep layers below the surface of the skin at a high temperature in a more targeted and uniform way.

For this reason, FaceTite is considered to be semi-invasive, and is a treatment that’s really effective if what you’re looking for is very advanced, targeted, skin tightening and tissue shrinking. In fact, it actually results in about 70% reduction in tissue and improvement in the tightness and firmness of the skin.

Morpheus8, meanwhile, is more of a full face skin rejuvenation and overall tightening treatment. It can treat anything from uneven skin texture, acne, and hyperpigmentation, to mild skin laxity and fine lines and wrinkles.

So the way we like to think about these two treatments is that Morpheus8 is kind of like a foundation treatment. Anyone can benefit from Morpheus8 as it has the capability to address a wide range of skin concerns, and is really great for improving the overall appearance of your skin.

FaceTite is more like one step up from Morpheus8. Not everyone necessarily needs or will benefit from FaceTite, kind of like how not everyone needs or will benefit from surgical intervention. If you’re at a point where basic non-surgical treatments are not getting the results you want for these skin concerns, and you’ve been wondering if you might need to start considering surgical options, this is a great in-between step that is a little more invasive but remains non-surgical.

To break it down even further: Morpheus8 is what anyone can start with, while you can work up to FaceTite if you need it.

Which treatment do I need for my skin concerns?

Ok, so which one do you need? Let’s put it this way. If what you’re looking for is overall skin rejuvenation, your go-to is Morpheus8. If you have uneven skin texture, or acne scarring, or dark spots you want to get rid of then Morpheus8 will be great.

What about skin tightening? Morpheus8 can certainly address skin tightening, but in a less targeted and less aggressive way than FaceTite. If you have areas on the face that moderately sag or jowl, then Morpheus8 definitely has the capability to tighten and remodel these areas, but the effects will be more subtle, and for some people this is just right.

Basically Morpheus8 can do everything from creating an airbrushed effect to the skin, to more advanced skin tightening and facial remodeling, with a subtle and very natural look.

What about FaceTite? Well like we said, not everyone needs this treatment, but you might be someone who actually benefits from this treatment more than Morpheus8. Some people have really good skin texture and quality but just have excess tissue under the chin that they want to target. Whether it’s a result of sagging skin or excess fat, FaceTite is amazing for that kind of targeted approach.

Before and After FaceTite and Morpheus8 Skin Treatments

If you’re still not sure, here are some before and after photos of Morpheus8 and FaceTite treatments.

Before and after a FaceTite treatment performed by Dr. Chbat at MD Beauty Clinic

This is the result of a FaceTite treatment performed by Dr. Chbat at our clinic. You’ll notice that it’s super targeted in the area just below the chin, essentially creating a non-surgical neck lift in this area of lax tissue that this patient wanted to address.

With the result of this Morpheus8 treatment, you can see how the overall skin quality of this patient has improved in the lower face. While there has been some tightening of the area below the chin, the most significant changes are visible in the refined fine lines and overall improvements to the texture of the skin.

As we perform this treatment more and track patients’ results over time, we’ll be posting more Morpheus8 before and after photos on our website and on our Instagram, so follow us if you’d like to see what we can do.
